North texas council

        on youth leadership

The North Texas Council on Youth Leadership (formerly the Denton Area Youth Salute) has expanded to include Argyle, Aubrey, Decatur, Denton, Flower Mound, Frisco, Krum, Lake Dallas, Lewisville, Keller, Pilot Point, Ponder, Sanger schools.  Now, more students across the North Texas area will be commended on their outstanding leadership skills.

The North Texas Council on Youth Leadership was formed to acknowledge the leadership skills of area high school students.  The NTCYL program culminates into a once a year “Youth Salute” where soon-to-be high school Seniors are honored (students are nominated at the end of their Junior year of high school). Students must be recommended for the program by their school counselors or other community figures.  The students’ leadership accomplishments are compiled on a Senior Portrait Highlight Display (courtesy of Ahh! Photography of Ahh! Photography) and displayed in community locations for the public to view as well as sent to the students’ high school for viewing.  Those students who are ranked in the top 10-percent of their graduating class will also be eligible for a scholarship that may be used to the college of their choice.

Every year the students honored through this leadership program are further praised by their Senior Portrait Highlight Display hung for the public to view at local malls as well as having them displayed in their schools
